8-3. Oil Filter - Removal

Puller, Tool No. 6798860
ENGINE/
1. Oil Filter
a. Remove nuts and
washers. Using puller,
slowly remove cap with
preformed packings from
housing located on top of
gearbox.
b. Use a clean suction
gun or another suitable
device to remove puddled
oil from within the filter
housing before removing
filter element.
Do not
damage filter element.
Examine sediment for
evidence of metal
particles.
c. Remove filter element
and preformed packing.
Discard the preformed
packing.
d. Temporarily reinstall
cap to prevent dirt from
entering the housing.
