Seal must be dipped in lubricating oil
before installation. Failure to comply
will cause damage to seal during dry
running period of initial engine starts.
NOTE
If part number is not visible, retaining
ring that holds carbon seal elements
should face out.
Place retainer assembly (24) on sleeve bushing
(Appendix E) (25). Dip serviceable seaI (26) in
lubricating oil (E32 or E33). Press seal (26) into
retainer assembly (24) with part number facing
down. Use oil seal installation tool (Appendix E)
(27) and arbor press.
Install retaining ring (28) in retainer assembly
(24).
