2-16. Engine Hose and Cable Assembly
Connection.
Connect the hose and cable assemblies between the
engine and the data acquisition assembly in accordance
with table 2-7, items 1 through 35. See figures 2-14 and
2-15.
2-17. Power Absorption System Hose and Cable
Assembly Connection.
Connect the hose and cable assemblies between the
power absorption system and the data acquisition
assembly in accordance with table 2-7, items 36 through
42. See figures 2-14 and 2-15.
2-18. Installation of Engine Test Dolly.
Proceed as follows:
a.
Remove the engine test dolly drawbar and attach
the test trailer crane assembly to the engine mount ring.
(Refer to paragraph 2-13 for operating instructions for
the crane assembly.)
b.
Raise the dolly and position the assembly so that
the dolly' axles are centered over the test trailer axle
latches.
c.
Lower the dolly assembly and guide the dolly
axles into the latch arm guides.
d.
Place the latch arms (20, figure 1-3) over the dolly
axles and tighten the swing eye bolt handles (21).
e.
Detach and secure the test trailer crane.
2-19. Installation of Fuel Control Slave Units.
Install slave units and connect to fuel control actuator
linkage as shown in figure 2-11, detail E.
Adjustment of fuel control actuator linkage is contained
in paragraph 2-11.
2-20. Test Trailer Hose and Cable Connection.
Proceed as follows:
a.
Connect one end of hose assembly (1, figure 2-
16) to engine oil-in fitting, install coupling (2) in opposite
end, and connect to OIL SUPPLY coupling on test trailer
lubricating oil unit.
b.
Connect hose assembly (3) to elbow in engine
gearbox vent, install coupling (2) in opposite end, and
connect to GEARBOX VENT coupling on test trailer
lubricating oil unit.
c.
Connect one end of hose assembly (4) to the
engine oil scavenge fitting, install coupling (2) in
opposite end, and connect to OIL RETURN coupling on
test trailer lubricating oil unit.
d.
Connect one end of hose assembly (5) to engine
Nil bleed fitting, install coupling (6) in opposite end, and
connect to Nil BLEED RETURN coupling on test trailer.
e.
Connect one end of hose assembly (7) to engine
fuel-in fitting, then install reducer (8), packing (9), and
coupling (10) in opposite end, and connect to FUEL
SUPPLY coupling on test trailer.
f.
Connect electric start system cable assembly to
engine starter as shown in detail D.
g.
Connect one end of hose assembly (11) to engine
combustion chamber drain. Place opposite end in safe
overboard container.
h.
Connect hose assembly (12) between water brake
water return manifold and WATER RETURN coupling
on test trailer.
i.
Connect hose assembly (13) between water brake
water supply manifold and WATER SUPPLY coupling
on test trailer.
j.
Install nipple (14) into' one end of hose assembly
(15) and connect to AIR SUPPLY coupling on test
trailer.
k.
Install reducer (16), packing (17), and coupler (18)
in opposite end of hose assembly (15).
Connect coupling to P1 AIR IN coupling of data
acquisition assembly.
I.
Connect cable assemblies from test trailer to data
acquisition assembly as follows:
1. Connect W1 to J1
2. Connect W2 to J2
3. Connect W3 to J3
4. Connect W4 to J4
5. Connect W5 to J5
6. Connect W6 to J6
