a. Deenergize the following switchlight units on
services panel assembly 4A1 (9, figure 1-25):
115 VAC 400 HZ (28)
INST DC (29)
CONSOLE DC (30)
26 VAC 400 HZ (31)
b. Depress the INST PWR OFF switch (7, figure 1-
26) on the No. 1 power control panel assembly (32).
c. Disconnect cable assembly W13 from the oil
quantity probe connector (14, figure 1-12) on the test
trailer oil system.
CAUTION
Exercise extreme care when handling
and marking the oil quantity probe to
avoid damage to the unit.
d. Remove the oil quantity probe from the lubricating
oil unit (6).
WARNING
Use dry-cleaning solvent in a well
ventilated area. Avoid breathing
fumes and keep vapors away from
open flame. Failure to observe this
warning may cause damage to the
equipment by fire and may result in
serious or fatal injury to maintenance
personnel.
e. Clean the oil quantity probe with Specification P-D-
680 dry-cleaning solvent and wipe dry with a clean, dry,
lint-free cloth.
f. Use a fine tip pencil to mark the oil quantity probe
at the dimension shown in figure 5-2. Exercise care
when marking the probe to avoid scratching or otherwise
damaging the unit.
g. Connect cable assembly W13 to the oil quantity
probe connector.
h. Suspend the oil quantity probe vertically inside a
clean, dry glass or plastic beaker having a minimum
depth of 10 inches. Ensure that the probe is in a vertical
attitude to avoid error during the following adjustments.
i. Depress the INST PWR ON switch (7, figure 1-26).
j. Depress the following switchlight units on services
panel assembly 4A1 (9, figure 1-25):
115 VAC 400 HZ (28)
INST DC (29)
CONSOLE DC (30)
26 VAC 400 HZ (31)
k. Set the K factor pre-set (15, figure 1-23) on the
OIL/FLOW CONSUMPTION monitor to 1000.
I. Adjust the SENSITIVITY control (14) completely
clockwise, then one-half turn counterclockwise.
