6-22. Blower.
Lubricate the motors of the blowers (1, figure 7-20) and
(1, figure 7-21) in the left hand and right hand castle
assemblies after the first 1,800 hours of operation.
Remove the cover and apply 15 drops of SAE No. 20
non-detergent lubricating oil into each motor lubrication
tube. Use a fine wire to push the oil through the tube,
then replace the cover. Repeat the operation after
every 1,800 operational hours.
6-23. Valve.
Lubricate the valve (130, figure 7-29) as shown in figure
6-6 every 12 months or as often as experience and
usage dictate. Proceed as follows:
a. Remove the eight bolts (1) from the cover (2).
Do not disconnect the lever (5) or ball (6).
b. Lift the cover (2) as far upward as space
permits
and

molybdenum disulphide by hand to the machined
diameter which fits into the mating diameter in the body
(7). Ensure that the area around the packing (8) is well
lubricated.
c. Apply the specified lubricant to the exposed
portion of the stem (4).
d. Loosen and slide the packing nut (3) to the top
of the stem (4). Apply the specified lubricant to the
stem below the packing nut and in the cavity containing
the packing gland.
e. Slide the cover (2) in and out of the body (7)
several times, then lubricate the stem (4) and packing
gland cavity again.
f. Lower the cover (2) into the body (7) and install
the eight bolts (1). Tighten the bolts securely.
g. Move the lever (5) up and down several times
to
check
freedom
from
binding.
