6-24. Periodic Cleaning.
WARNING
Use dry-cleaning solvents In a well-
ventilated area. Keep solvents and
vapors away from open flame and
avoid breathing fumes. Solvents have
a cumulative toxic effect on the
system. Failure to observe this
warning may result in serious or fatal
illness.
The cleaning requirements and intervals for
components of the system are outlined in table 6-
3. Observe all precautionary measures outlined
in base fire and safety regulations when using the
cleaning agents specified in the table. Wear
protective
clothing,
gloves,
and
respiratory
equipment when required by regulation. The use
of carbon tetrachloride is not recommended; use
volatile and flammable liquids only under the
supervision
of
responsible
maintenance
personnel.
