Disconnect/remove
the
following
prior
to
removing the engine and engine test dolly from the test
trailer.
NOTE
Do not disconnect hoses from fuel
control slave units
(1)
Remove the slave units from engine
mounting pad.
NOTE
Hoses may contain entrapped fluid.
(2)
Disconnect all hose and cable connections
to the test trailer at engine and power absorption system
connecting points.
b.
Remove dolly assembly from test trailer as
follows (see figure 1-3):
(1)
Attach the test trailer crane assembly to the
engine mount ring. (Refer to paragraph 2-13 for crane
assembly operation instructions.)
(2)
Remove the dolly axle latch arms (20).
(3)
Remove the dolly and engine from test
trailer.
(4)
Detach and secure the test trailer crane,
then install the dolly drawbar.
c.
Remove the engine from the dolly assembly
as follows:
(1)
Remove tailpipe from exhaust diffuser and
install dust cover.
(2)
Disconnect all hoses assemblies, vibration
pickups, thermocouples, and combustor section probes.
(3)
Remove
drain
bottles,
NI
and
NII
tachometer generators, hydraulic starter, and bleed
band cable assembly.
(4)
Remove
all
vibration
pickup
adapter
assemblies.
(5)
Remove the engine fuel control actuator
linkage and throttle position transmitter and bracket.
(6)
On T55-L-7/7C/11 model engines with
variable inlet guide vanes, remove the inlet guide vane
transmitter assembly.
CAUTION
Position torque element cable to
prevent damage when removing inlet
screen assembly.
(7)
Remove the inlet screen assembly.
(8)
Remove the outer and inner bellmouths.
(9)
Remove water brake and torque system.
(9.1)
If installed, remove washer (4, figure 7-40)
from inside of engine output shaft.
(10) Install engine lifting adapters and lifting
sling. Remove bolts from engine mount brackets and
remove engine.
(11) Remove the engine mounts and engine
mounting brackets.
(12) When T55 turboshaft testing is concluded,
disconnect and remove all accessory hoses and cables
from the test trailer.
