On A-700 model engine install cover (41) and
spacers (43) over power output shaft and secure using
nuts (42).
h.
Install cover (56) on vac/hyd pump pad and
secure using nuts (57).
i.
Install starter generator (36) as follows:
(1)
Coat starter drive splines with lubricant
conforming to Specification MIL-G-18709.
(2) Remove clamp and starter generator from
starter generator adapter.
(3)
Install starter generator mounting adapter,
with gasket (38), on starter generator pad and secure
with four nuts (37). Tighten nuts to 50 ±
5 inch-pounds
torque.
(4)
Install starter generator on starter generator
mounting adapter. Secure starter generator to adapter
with clamp. Tighten nut on clamp to 40 ±
5 inch-pounds
torque.
CAUTION
Do not Interconnect starter cable
between starter generator and electric
start system until engine Installation is
complete. Connect cable just prior to
starting the engine for test.
j.
coat tachometer generator drive shaft with
lubricant conforming to Specification MIL-G18709.
Install a tachometer generator (9) and gasket (11) on
gas producer turbine pad on accessory drive gearbox
assembly. Install a second tachometer generator and
gasket on power turbine pad of accessory drive gearbox
assembly. Secure the installation using nuts (10).
k.
Lift engine and position over installed frame
assembly.
NOTE
On engines S/N's 400,00 to 400,039,
studs from face of flange are 0.920 to
0. 960 inch long and rust be removed
before installing adapter (39).
I.
Coat spines of engine output conversion shaft
(40) with lubricant conforming to Specification MIL-G-
18709.
m. Install engine adapter (39) in engine output shaft,
then spline conversion shaft (40) to engine adapter.
