TM 55-4920-328-13
CAUTION
Conversion shaft must be manually
supported when installing engine in
frame assembly to prevent damage to
the shaft.
n.
With conversion shaft supported, simultaneously
lower engine onto frame assembly and guide opposite
end of conversion shaft into water brake assembly
adapter. Properly position engine so that engine mounts
and frame mounting pads mate. Secure engine to
frame mounts with four bolts each and lockwire. Detach
engine sling from engine, then remove sling from hoist.
o.
Install bellmouth assembly (63) on engine inlet
and secure with eight screws (64) and nuts {65).
Tighten nuts to 12 + 2 inch-pounds torque. Secure two
thermocouples (59) with screws (60).
p.
Install exhaust duct assembly (66) on each of
two turbine assembly exhaust ports. Secure each
exhaust duct assembly to exhaust port with V-band
clamps (67). Tighten clamp nuts to 23 + 2 inch-pounds
torque.
q.
Install two thermocouples (62) with support
clamps (61) on the anti-ice lines.
r.
Install vibration pickup (92) on engine turbine
attachment plate, then install a second vibration pickup
(93) on engine compressor section.
s.
Install vibration pickup (85) on frame assembly
and water brake using screws (86).
t.
Assemble engine anti-ice control unit as follows:
(1) Install bracket (68) on anti-ice actuator
assembly (81) using bolts (69), washer (70), nuts (71),
and cotter pins (72).
(2) Install bracket and actuator assembly on
bracket assembly (73) using bolts (74), washers (75),
nuts (76), and cotter pins (77).
(3) Install bracket assembly (73) with actuator
on frame assembly using bolts (78), flat washers (79),
and lock washers (80).
(4) Attach engine anti-icing valve actuation
lever to actuator assembly (81) using bolt (82), washer
(83), and nut (84).
NOTE
Ensure
actuator
assembly
lever
is
preloaded when attached to engine.
NOTE
Check for compliance with TM 55-2840-
231-24 before connecting bleed air
system.
u.
Install bleed air collector (94) and secure with
bolts (89) and nuts (90).
v.
Use loop clamps (88, 91), bolt (89), and nut (90),
to position and secure thermocouples (87) on air
collector.
2-39. Installation of Fuel Control Actuator Linkage
and Transmitter.
Install fuel control actuator linkage and transmitter as
shown in figure 2-35.
NOTE
The fuel control slave units are installed
after the engine and engine test dolly are
installed on the test trailer.
2-40. Engine and Power Absorption System
Hose and Cable Assembly Connection. Connect the
hose and cable assemblies between the engine and
power absorption system and the data acquistion
assembly in accordance with table 2-10. See figures 2-
36 and 2-37.
