I. Install the stop (21) and screw (22) at the 56 degree
mark.
2-53. Installation of T74 Nil CP-702 Controls.
Install the T74 Nil control linkage on engine model
CP-702 as shown in figure 2-46 and as follows:
a. Disconnect the NlI governor shaft from the
actuator arm and reinstall the attaching parts in the free
end of the shaft to facilitate reinstallation after engine
test. Secure the governor shaft to a non-moving part of
the engine and ensure non-interference with any of the
engine parts or accessories.
b.
Install the bracket (1) on the engine test dolly
mount ring, using two washers (3) and two bolts (2).
NOTE
The NIIl slave unit specified in the
following step is part of the permanently
connected test trailer equipment.
c.
Install the NIIl slave unit (4) on the bracket (1),
using three bolts (5), three washers (7), and three nuts
(6). Ensure that the lever arm is in the approximate 10
o'clock position.
d.
Install one nut (8) and one rod end (9) on each
end of the rod (10). Do not tighten the nuts at this time.
e.
Install the actuator (11) as shown.
f.
Move the actuator (11) to position the NIIl
control unit to the closed position and move the NIl
master control unit in the control cab to the closed
position.
g.
Adjust the length of the rod (10) to mate with the
mating holes in the actuator (11) and lever arm of the
NIIl slave unit (4), then tighten the nuts (8).
h.
Install one end of the rod (10) on the lever arm
of the Nil slave unit (4), using the bolt (12), washer (13),
and nut (14).
i. Install the other end of the rod (10) on the
actuator (11), using the spacer (15), bolt (16), and nut
(17).
j.
Install the stop (18) and screw (19) on the NIl
master control unit in the control cab.
k.
Check the interconnection of the engine hose
and cable assembly connection points and the test
trailer connection points, using table 2-11 as a guide.

Prior to test of the engine, accomplish the
procedures specified in Preliminary Checkout Prior to
Test, paragraph 2-9.
