2-54. Removal of T74 Engine and Test Dolly.
Proceed as follows:
NOTE
When removing engine accessories,
reinstall all engine plugs and dust
covers.
a.
Disconnect the following prior to removing the
engine and test dolly from the test trailer.
NOTE
Do not disconnect hoses from the fuel
control slave unit.
(1) Remove the fuel control slave units.
NOTE
Hoses may contain entrapped fluid.
(2) Disconnect all hoses and cables between
the engine test dolly (engine, data acquisition assembly,
and water brake) and the test trailer.
b.
Reconnect the NI and NII throttle linkages, as
applicable, disconnected at installation of the engine
accessories.
c. Remove the test dolly assembly from the test
trailer as follows (see figure 1-3):
(1) Attach the LTCT21948-01 lifting sling to the
engine test dolly mount ring lifting eye and to the two
forward rings on the test dolly. Attach the test trailer
crane to the lifting sling. (Refer to paragraph 2-13 for
crane assembly operation instructions.)
(2) Disengage the latch arms (20) from the
engine test dolly axles.
(3) Remove the engine and test dolly from the
test trailer deck and lower to ground level.
(4) Detach the lighting sling and crane hook.
(5) Install the test dolly drawbar.
d.
Disconnect the torque element cable assembly
from the mating connector on the data acquisition
assembly.
e.
Disconnect the water brake instrumentation and
hose assemblies from the water brake.
f.
Remove the power absorption system in the
reverse order of installation outlined in paragraph 2-48.
g.
Remove all hose assemblies, thermocouples,
cable assemblies, and attaching brackets. Do not
disassemble the hose assemblies and their mating
parts.
h.
Disconnect the assembled drain bottle and hose
assembly.
i.
Remove the tail pipes and the assembled
compressor wash manifold assembly.
j.
Remove the chip detector and both tachometer
generators from CP-702 engine. Remove the chip
detector and NI tachometer generator from the CP-700
engine.
k.
Remove the starter generator.
l.
Remove the cover from the propeller governor
mounting pad.
m. Install the lifting bar and then remove the
engine from the test dolly in the reverse order of
installation outlined in paragraph 2-47.
n.
Remove the engine mounts, mounting brackets.
Remove the lifting bar from the engine.
o.
Cap, when required, and stow all test trailer
hose and cable assemblies.
