2-56. Installation of T73 Engine in Mount Stand Assembly.
Install the engine and certain components of
the T73 engine accessories as shown in figure 2-48, observing the following:
a.
Attach the engine sling assembly (1) to the forward and aft lifting points on the engine.
b.
Attach the hook of a suitable hoist to the clevis on the engine sling assembly (1).
c.
Raise the engine to a height suitable to installation of the engine accessories, prior to installing the engine in the
mount stand assembly.
d. Install the engine support shaft end (2) on the 3 o'clock mounting pad on the engine, using four washers (3) and
four bolts (4). Tighten and lockwire the bolts.
e.
Install the bearing (5) on the engine support shaft end (2), using the washer (6) and screw (7).
f. Install the engine support shaft end (8) on the 9 o'clock mounting pad on the engine, using four washers (9) and
four bolts (10). Tighten and lockwire the bolts.
g.
Install the bearing (11) on the engine support shaft end (8), using the washer (12) and nut (13).
h.
Install the packing (15) and backup ring (16) in the external groove of the hub (14), engage the hub on the
external splines of the water brake rotor shaft, and install the spanner nut (17).
