the pump, and has a sight gage to indicate hydraulic
fluid level. A thermal switch is installed in the tank
assembly. When the fluid temperature reaches 175 °F,
the thermal switch closes to complete a circuit to the
HYDTEMP HIGH indicator (2, figure 1-26) on the No. 2
power control panel assembly (1) in the control cab
module. This action causes the light to come on to warn
the technician of high fluid temperature. The pressure
gage immediately downstream from the pump assembly
is graduated from O to 10,000 psig in 200-psi
increments. The relief valve downstream from the
pump assembly is adjusted to relieve at the inlet
pressure requirements of the engine -mounted starter.
The relief valve in the return line from the starter is
adjusted to open at a nominal pressure 125 psig to
provide a back pressure to the starter to prevent surge.
Indication of back pressure is shown on the return line
pressure gage.
