172. BROKEN WIRE CONTACT REMOVAL. It is
possible that when removing contacts the wire may
be broken. To remove the contact when the wire is
broken proceed as follows:
a.  Using the insertion removal tool insert white
tip 1/8 inch into rear of connector at right angle to
grommet face (Figure 41).
b.  If resistance is felt, withdraw tool slightly and
rotate tool 1/6 of a turn, re-insert. Repeat this step until
tool passes resistance area. Continue until a positive
stop is felt.

Exert pressure on mating end of contact with
pin or socket. Push contact out of connector before
disengaging tool from connector (Figure 42).
