percent of NI speed and energize the TIMER START
switchlight unit (35). During coastdown, listen for
evidence of rubs, excessive or unusual noise, or evidence
of vibration in the engine. Do not proceed with the test of
an engine if any of the foregoing adverse conditions exist.
f. If a test of a T63 engine is to be accomplished,
energize the OIL PRE-HEAT ON switch (14, figure 1-26)
and allow the oil to heat to 1800 F prior to firing the
engine.
g. Shut down the system in accordance with the
procedures outlined in paragraph 2-12.
2-12. Electrical System Shutdown Procedures.
After the prior to engine firing checkout has been
accomplished, deenergize the system in accordance with
the following:
a. Reset the elapsed time indicator (37, figure 1-24) by
depressing the TIMER RESET switchlight unit (36).
b. Position the AIR SUPPLY switch (9, figure 1- 27) to
OFF, if energized.
c. Deenergize the following switches on the No. 1 power
control panel (32, figure 1-26):
BEACON OFF (20)
FLOOD LIGHTS OFF (21)
FUEL PUMP STOP (22)
OIL PUMP STOP (23) (if applicable)
OIL PRE-HEAT OFF (24) (if applicable)
LUBE PUMP STOP (25) (if applicable)
AIR COMP STOP (26)
TOWER FAN NO. 2 STOP (27)
TOWER FAN NO. 1 STOP (28)
COOLING PUMP STOP (29)
BRAKE PUMP STOP (30)
d. Deenergize the following switchlight units on services
panel 4A1 (9) as shown in figure 1-25:

115 VAC 400 HZ (28)
INST DC (29)
CONSOLE DC (30)
26 VAC 400 HZ (31)
e. Deenergize the INST PWR OFF switch (31, figure 1-
26) on the No. 1 power control panel (32).
f. Deenergize (open) the following circuit breakers in the
control cab circuit breaker panel assembly (1, figure 2-9):
NOTE
The UTIL OUTLETS/LTG circuit breaker CB9
(11) may remain energized at all times for
operator convenience, except for maintenance
actions.

CAUTION
Ensure that the electrical load is always
removed from the generator set prior to
deenergizing the MAIN circuit breaker (8, figure
2- 9). Failure to observe this pre- caution may
result in damage to the equipment.
g. Deenergize the MAIN circuit breaker (8) on the control
cab circuit breaker panel assembly.
h. Deenergize the generator set by positioning the
START/RUN switch (35, figure 2-8) to STOP.
2-13. Operation of Crane Assembly.
Operate the crane assembly in accordance with the
following:
a. Remove the nut (11, figure 1-5) and cap screw (12)
from the lifting end of the boom extension (2).
b. Slide the boom extension (2) out from the fully
retracted position until the second hole in the boom
extension is aligned with the mating hole in the boom.
Reinstall the capscrew and nut.
c. Attach the chain block (9, figure 1-3) to the chain and
hook assembly (1, figure 1-5).
d. To raise the boom (3) , close the manual re- lease
valve (10) by turning the handle clockwise, then operate
the hydraulic hand pump (5). For slower lifting speed and
less pumping, open the release valve 1/4 to 1/2 turn
before operating the hydraulic hand pump.
