to 70-75 inch-pounds. Torque accessory gearbox nuts
to 45-50 inch-pounds.
(3) Remove blankoff plates (16) and clamps (17).

Install cap (8, figure 2-59) onto midframe P3
reducer (9). Tighten (60°
wrench arc) cap.
i.
Cap, cover, or plug all external engine openings.
j.
Remove the following test equipment:
(1)
Attach engine sling (see figure 2-56) to
forward and aft engine lifting locations.
(2)
Attach hook of a suitable hoist to the engine
sling lifting eye.
(3)
Raise hoist to remove slack from sling.
(4)
Remove upper inlet duct and screen (1,
figure 2-57), inner exhaust body (10), exhaust duct (11)
and Marmon clamp (9).
(5)
Remove two nuts (18). Slide inlet fairing
(15) aft. Reinstall two nuts onto studs (16).
(6)
Remove two nuts (8) and two bolts (14)
from lower linkages (5 and 6). Reinstall bolts and nuts
into linkages.
(7)
Remove five screws (5, figure 2-56).
(8)
Remove clip (10) and loosen clamp (2).
(9)
Slide bellmouth (3) forward.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the (-700, -701
electrical control unit (ECU), or (-701C)
digital electronic control (DEC), make sure it
does not touch rear mount on support frame
when moving engine aft.
(10) With
another
mechanic
supporting
bellmouth (3), carefully move engine aft, disconnecting
torque shaft (9) from water brake spline (11).
(11) Carefully raise engine from support frame.
Keep engine parallel to support frame during removal.
(12) Remove bellmouth (3).
(13) With second mechanic maintaining engine
position, carefully remove torque shaft (9).
k.
Remove inlet fairing (4) and torque tube mount (6)
as follows:
(1)
Move engine away from support frame and
test dolly.
(2)
With another mechanic supporting torque
tube mount (6), remove 15 bolts (7).
(3)
Carefully remove tube mount (6) and inlet
fairing (4) together.
l.
Install engine into shipping container as directed
in TM55-2840-248-23.
m.
Remove support frame (1, figure 2-53) from dolly
as follows:
(1)
Attach hook of a suitable hoist to frame.
