(3)
Dial in the range settings for the
accessory gearbox. For example, figure 2-62, View B
shows a range setting of 50 pC/g.
(4)
Set SENS switch of charge amplifier in step
(3) to 10-110.
(5)
Dial in the range settings for the exhaust
frame vertical and horizontal accelerometers. For
example, figure 2-62, View A, shows the range setting of
10.
(6)
Set SENS switches of two charge amplifiers
in step 5 to 1-11.
c.
Check stage 1 VG angle as follows:
(1)
Set linkage in the fully open position (HMU
actuator rod fully retracted) by using an open-end
wrench on flats on VG actuating shaft.
(2)
Set stage 1 VG readout angle to -1. 50
(3)
Set linkage in the fully closed position
(HMU actuator rod fully extended) by using an open-
end wrench on flats on actuating shaft.
(4)
Closed angle should read 290 to 320. If
closed angle is not within these limits, adjust the
transmitter. Record closed angle.
d.
Calibrate water brake and torque element as
follows:
(1)
Place calibration arm (figure 263) onto
water brake and torque element. Align boltholes in
calibration arm with boltholes in water brake.
(2)
Install two attaching bolts and torque
them to 190-230 inch-pounds.
NOTE
All torque indicator readings are read on
TORQUE/PRESSURE meter on panel 1A1.
(3)
Adjust weight A to set 00000 + 25 inch-
pounds reading on TORQUE/PRESSURE digital
indicator.(4, figure 1-22) on panel 1A1.
CAUTION
·
Do not drop weights on the weight platform.
·
Do not exceed 200 pounds (90 kg) total
weight. * Failure to observe these
precautions may cause damage to the
equipment.
NOTE
·
The 50-pound (22. 5 kg) weights are placed
on the weight platform, at a distance of 25
inches (63. 5 cm) from the vertical centerline
of the water brake. The 25-inch distance is
used in calculating the torque applied by the
50-pound weights.
·
The formula for calculating torque is weight
(lb) multiplied by distance (in. ) of weight
platform from vertical centerline of water
brake.
(4)
Place first.50-pound weight on weight
platform.(see figure 2-63). Note indicator reading on
TORQUE/PRESSURE meter on panel 1A1 (50 lb x 25
in. = 1, 250 25 inch-pounds).
(5)
Place second..50-pound weight on weight
platform. Note indicator reading (100 lb x 25 in. = 2,
500 25 inch-pound).
(6)
Place third 50-pound weight on weight
platform. Note indicator reading (150 lb x 25 in. = 3,
750 25 inch-pounds).
(7)
Place fourth..50-pound weight on weight
platform. Note indicator reading (200 lb x 25 in. = 5,
000 25 inch-pounds).
