Figure 6-2. Servicing Hydraulic Control Subsystem.
d. Install the second tube on bleed port F on the
filler bleeder, using an O-ring packing to seal the
connection.
e. Obtain a supply of hydraulic fluid conforming
to Specification MIL-H-5606 and insert the lower ends of
the tubing into the open container.
f. Close synchronizing valve A on master control
unit, completely, then open the valve two turns.
g. Close synchronizing valve B, on slave unit
completely, then open the valve two turns.
h. Open bleed valve C three turns.
i. Close valve D completely but do not use force
to accomplish this action.
j. Pump the hydraulic fluid into the servo loop by
operating the master control unit handle in both
directions to the limit of travel. Operate the handle
rapidly to prime the servo loop. After priming, operate
the handle slowly and observe the comparable action of
the slave unit lever. When clear fluid (without air
bubbles) is returned to the fluid container through the
tubing connected to bleed port F, the servo loop has
been filled.
k. Close bleed valve C.
I. Loosen the screw which secures the pointer on
the dial, move the pointer to EMPTY, then tighten the
screw.
m. Determine the ambient temperature in the
control cab and, using short strokes, operate the handle
in both directions until the pointer indicates the noted
temperature.
n. Remove the tube from bleed port F.
o. Open valve D five turns.
p. Remove the tube from suction port E.
q. Install the cap on suction port E.
r. Securely close valves A and B.
