(b) Set selector valve on hydraulic power supply to EXHAUST. (This relieves all pressure In line and ensures
sufficient room for upper die block to be inserted over lower die block).
(c) To ensure against undesirable air entrapment in hose and swaging tool, install a set of die blocks
Figure 4-83. Tube End Marking
In the tool and position the tool below the level of the hydraulic power supply. Then cycle the hydraulic power supply to
2000 psi, followed by EXHAUST. Two or three cycles may be required.
(d) Select correct upper and lower die block assemblies for size of fitting to be swaged. If either die block is too
small, upper die block will not load. If either is too large, fitting will swage improperly.
(e) Insert lower die block (with correct fitting locator option dependent on type of fitting) into swaging tool. When
properly inserted, fitting locator is on opposite end of tool relative to latch.
(f) Place swaging tool on fitting to be swaged, with fitting over lower die block and positioned such that end not
being swaged is butted up against shoulder stop of fitting locator
(g) Insert upper die block assembly into swaging tool from latch side of tool On D10001 only, upper die block
assembly may also be inserted from top of tool-head
CAUTION
Latch must be fully in place. Failure to comply may result In slippage of fitting or line when pressure is applied
