(32) On T55-L-7/7C model engines, install packing
(66) and reducer (67) in accessory gearbox pressure
port.
(33) On T55-L-7/7C/11 model engines with
variable inlet guide vanes, install the IGV transmitter
assembly (73).
(34) Install bleed band cable assembly (74).
(35) Install packing (69) and nipple (68) in fuel
pump pressure port.
(36) Install packing (69), nipple (68), hose assembly
(70), nipple (71), and drain bottle (72) in fuel pump drain
port.
(37) Deleted.
(38) Deleted.
(39) Install the fuel control actuator linkage,
transmitter, and bracket as shown in figure 2-27.
NOTE
The fuel control slave units are
installed after the engine and engine
test dolly are installed on the test
trailer.
(39.1) On T55-L-712 model engines, ensure
maximum trim stop (7A) is installed.
(39.2) On T55-L-7/7C model engines, when cold
weather trim procedures are required, install cold
weather trim stop (8A).
(39.3) On T55-L-11 model engines when cold
weather trim procedures are required, install cold
weather trim stop (8A) for T55-L-11A/11D models or
(8B) for T55-L-11C/11E models.
(39.4) On T55-L-712 model engines, when cold
weather
trim
procedures
are
required,
remove
maximum trim stop (7A) and install cold weather trim
stop (8C) in its place. After trim procedures are
completed, remove cold weather trim stop (8C) and
reinstall maximum trim stop (7A).
(40) When a T55-L-7 engine is to be tested, install
the
T55-L-7
torque
indicator
(2,
figure
2-7)
in
accordance with the instructions outlined in paragraph 2-
7. Connect P5 of the branched cable assembly (10) in
operator's panel 3A1 to the mating connector on the
torque indicator.
(41) When a T55-L-11/712 engine is to be tested,
install the T55-L-11/712 torque indicator (3, figure 2-7)
in accordance with the instructions outlined in paragraph
2-7. Connect P6 and P7 of the branched cable
assembly (10) to the appropriate connectors on the
torque indicator.
(42) When a T55-L-11/712 engine is to be tested,
connect P8 of the branched cable assembly (10) to the
mating connector on the inverter (6).
2-31. Installation of Power Absorption System.
Install the power absorption system as follows:
a. Remove the bellmouth (8, figure 2-30) from the
torque system assembly.
a1. Install nipple (10) in water brake aft bearing
supply port.
a2. Install nipple (11) in water brake oil return port.
b. Remove the torque element shaft (12, figure 2-28)
from the torque system.
c. Apply molybdenum disulphide conforming to
Specification MIL-M-7866 to the internal splines of the
torque element shaft.
d. Install the torque element shaft onto the adapter
(11) on the aft end of the water brake.
e. Guide the torque element oil drain tubing through
a hole in the water brake adapter plate and secure the
water brake/torque system assembly with 12 bolts (8)
when testing T55-L-11/712 engines or 12 bolts (9) and
spacer (10) when testing T55-L-7/7C engines. Tighten
and lockwire the bolts.
NOTE
Spacer (10) must be installed when
testing T55-L-7/7C engines and must
be removed before testing T55-L-
11/712 engines.
f. Install the barlift (3) on the water brake with bolts
(4) and washers (5).
g. Use a suitable hoisting device, lift the water
brake/torque system and suspend the assembly at a
convenient height forward of the test engine.
