2-47. Installation and Preparation of T74 Turboprop
Engines for Testing.
CAUTION
Ensure that all unconnected hoses,
engine parts, and cable connectors are
capped
at
all
times
to
prevent
contamination.
NOTE
Install corrosion -resistant MS20995
lockwire of the appropriate wire gage,
when instructed in the following text.
Lockwire in accordance with MS33540.
NOTE
All
attaching
bolts
or
nuts,
as
applicable, must be tightened to the
appropriate
torque
value.
When
special torque values are not specified
in the text, refer to chapter 6 of this
technical manual for standard torque
values.
a. Install the lifting bar assembly on the engine as
shown in figure 2-40 and as follows:
(1) Install the lifting bar assembly (1) on the
rear engine flange, using bolt (2), washer (3), and nut
(4).
(2) Install the engine lifting bar on the
forward engine flange, using bolt (5), washer (6), and
nut (7).
(3) Raise the engine and suspend at a
convenient working height.
b. Install the engine on the engine test dolly
assembly as shown in figure 2-41 and as follows:
(1) Check to ensure that the flat gaskets (1,
3) and circular gasket (2) are attached to each mount
(4).
(2) Install the mounts (4), three places on
the inlet housing pads on the engine, using 12 washers
(5), six bolts (6), and six bolts (7). Tighten the bolts to
120 + 20 inch-pounds torque, then lockwire the bolts.
