distribution box on the auxiliary trailer. The deck plates
are formed of 0.25-inch thick diamond tread aluminum
plate. The two storage boxes (5,6) are located beneath
the cooling tower module. The left storage box is 99.00
inches long, 17.50 inches wide, and 4.06 inches deep.
The right storage box is 58.00 inches long, 17.00 inches
wide, and 7.00 inches deep. Access to the two storage
boxes is gained by removing the protective screens
from both sides of the cooling tower module. Significant
details of the equipment installed on the auxiliary trailer
module are described in subsequent paragraphs in this
section.
(a) Auxiliary trailer frame and running
gear assembly. The auxiliary trailer frame and running
gear assembly (figure 1-33) consists essentially of a
frame assembly (4), running gear and brake system
assembly (7), three stop lights (1,2), two signal lights (3),
and associated piping, cabling, and hardware. The aft
running gear has dual 15-inch wheels with pneumatic
tires. The forward running gear has a steerable front
axle assembly with pneumatic tires. The brakes are
air/hydraulic. The rear parking brake is manually
controlled by operating a brake lever (5) on the right
side of the auxiliary trailer.
