ELECTROTHERMAL PROPELLER
DEICE (AUTO SYSTEM) MALFUNCTION
ZERO AMPS:
1. PROP deice switch -- AUTO.
2. If in AUTO with a reading of zero amps,
the system is inoperative, position switch
to off.
3. Use MANUAL position -- Monitor load
meter.
BELOW 18 AMPS:
1. Continue operation.
2. If propeller imbalance occurs, increase
RPM briely to aid in ice removal.
OVER 24 AMPS:
1. If circuit breaker does not trip, continue
operation.
2. If propeller imbalance occurs, increase
RPM briely to aid in ice removal.
3. If circuit breaker trips, use manual
system.
4. If manual mode circuit breaker tips,
avoid icing conditions.
ELECTROTHERMAL PROPELLER
DEICE MANUAL SYSTEM OPERATION
1. Manual propeller deice switch -- Hold in
MANUAL position for approximately 90
seconds, or until ice is dislodged from
blades.
2. Manual system current requirement
-- Monitor aircraft s loadmeters when
manual deice switch is in MANUAL
position. A small needle delection
(approximately 8%) indicates system is
functioning.
