y. Assemble the hose assembly (62), nipple (63),
and drain bottle (64) as shown in view E. Connect the
free end of the hose assembly to the nipple (62).
z. Remove and retain the shipping cap from the
engine turbine exhaust pressure port (view F). Connect
the hose assembly (65) to the port. Install a valued
nipple (66) in the free end of the hose assembly and
connect the valved nipple to the M8 OIL quick-
disconnect fitting on the data acquisition assembly (17).
(See view A. )
aa. Assemble the packing (67) on the nipple (68),
then install the assembled parts in the engine oil filter
outlet pressure sensing port. (Refer to view C. )
Connect the hose assembly (69) to the nipple. Install a
valved nipple (70) in the free end of the hose assembly
and connect the valved nipple to the M6 OIL quick-
disconnect fitting on the data acquisition assembly (17)
as shown in view A.
ab. Assemble the packing (71) on the nipple (72),
then install the elbow (73) on the nipple as shown in
view G. Install the assembled parts in fuel dump valve
port on the engine.
ac. Assemble the hose assemblies (74, 76), tee
(75), and drain bottle (77). Attach the free end of hose
assembly (74) to the elbow (73). (See view G. )
ad. Assemble the packing (78) on the nipple (79),
then install the assembled parts in the engine Nil drain
port (view H). Connect the hose assembly (80) to the
nipple.
ae. Remove and retain the shipping plugs from
the engine combustor drain port, two places.
af. Assemble the packing (81) and plug (82), then
install the assembled parts in the lower engine
combustor drain port (view J).
ag. Assemble the packing (83) and reducer (84),
then install the assembled parts in the second engine
combustor drain port.
ah. Connect the hose assembly (85) on the
reducer (84).
NOTE
The following steps (ai) through (ak) describe
preliminary assembly of parts. The final
adjustments of the linkage assemblies are
provided in a subsequent procedure in this
technical manual.
ai. Assemble the following parts depicted in view
K:
(1) Install the nut (86) on the rod (87) to
allow approximately 0. 6 inch of exposed threads on the
rod.
(2) Thread the turnbuckle (88) on the rod
(87) sufficiently to contact the nut (86).
(3) Install a second nut (89) on the threaded
end of the turnbuckle (88).
(4) Install the rod end (90) on the
turnbuckle (88).
(5) Temporarily install the clevis pin (91) in
the rod end (90), install the washer (92) on the
protruding end of the clevis pin, then secure the
installation using the cotter pin (93). Bend one leg of
the cotter pin slightly to secure the installation.
(6) Install the nut (94) on the other end of
the rod (87) to allow approximately 1/2 inch of exposed
threads.
(7) Install the rod end (95) on the rod (87)
to contact the nut (94), installed in the preceding step.
(8) Install one cotter pin (97) in the inner
hole of the linkage arm assembly (96). Bend both legs
of the cotter pin to secure the installation.
(9) Install the rod end (95) on the linkage
arm assembly (96), then install the second washer (98)
and cotter pin (97).
aj. Assemble the following parts:
(1) Install the nut (99) on the rod (100) to
allow approximately 1/2 inch of exposed threads on the
rod.
(2) Thread the turnbuckle (101) on the
threaded end of the rod (100) to contact the nut (99).
(3) Install the nut (102) on the threaded end
of the turnbuckle (101). (Approximately 5/16 inch of
threads will be exposed when the nut is installed. ) (4)
Install the rod end (103) on the exposed threads of the
turnbuckle (101).
(5) Install the nut (104) on the opposite
threaded end of the rod (100) sufficiently to allow
approximately 1/2 inch of exposed threads.
(6) Install the rod end (105) on the rod
(100) to contact the nut (104).
