Assemble the packing (7) on the coupler (8),
then attach the coupler to the union (6) and install the
assembled parts in the hose assembly (5). Attach the
free end of the hose assembly to the adapter assembly
(2).
d. Remove the shipping cover from the engine
combustor static port.
e. Install the gasket (9) and cover plate (10) on the
engine combustor static port, using three bolts (11),
three washers (12), and three nuts (13).
f. Install the nipple (14) in the cover plate (10).
g. Connect the hose assembly (15) to the nipple
(14), install the valved nipple (16) in the hose assembly,
then connect the valved nipple to the M3 AIR quick-
disconnect fitting on the data acquisition assembly (17)
as shown in view A.
h.
Assemble the packing (18) on the union (19)
and install the assembled parts in the seal drain port in
the lower side of the starter (20).
i.
Assemble the packing (21) on the union (22)
and install the assembled parts in the case drain port of
the starter (20).
j.
Install the elbow (23) on the union (22), then
attach the tube assembly (24) to the elbow. Install the
nipple (25) in the open end of the tube assem- bly, then
install the male tip (26) on the nipple.
k.
Assemble the packing (27) on the nipple (28)
and install the assembled parts in the OUT port of the
starter (20). Install the reducer bushing (29) on the
nipple, then install the male tip (30).
I.
Assemble the packing (31) on the nipple (32)
and install the assembled parts in the IN port of the
starter (20). Install the reducer bushing (33) on the
nipple, then install the valved nipple (34) on the reducer
bushing as shown in view B. m. Install the gasket (35)
and starter (20) on the engine starter mounting pads,
using six nuts (36). Tighten the nuts securely.
NOTE
It may be necessary to bend the forward
end of the thermocouple probe to
facilitate
installation
and
clear
the
adjacent engine fittings in the following
step.
n.
Assemble the packing (37) on the adapter (38)
and slide the assembled parts on the probe end of the
thermocouple probe (39). (See view C.) Carefully insert
the probe end of the assembled parts in the engine inlet
oil temperature sensing port until the probe touches the
internal parts in the fitting, then retract the probe
approximately 1/ 4 inch. Tighten the adapter to secure
the installation.
o.
Remove the engine oil tank filler cap and stow
in a convenient place for reinstallation after engine test.
p.
Install the nipple (40) in the cap (41), then install
the tee (42) on the nipple as shown in view D. Connect
the hose assembly (43) to the upper leg of the tee and
connect the hose assembly (44) to the side leg of the
tee. Install the valved nipple (45) on the free end of
hose assembly (44), then connect the valved nipple to
the M7 OIL quick-disconnect fitting on the data
acquisition assembly (17).
q.
Install the cap (41) in the engine integral oil
tank.
r.
Assemble the packing (46) on the nipple
(47), then install the elbow (48) on the nipple.
Attach the hose assembly (49) to the nipple.
s. Temporarily secure the free ends of hose
assemblies (43, 49) to the engine pending installation of
the
oil
level
indicator
assembly,
installed
in
a
subsequent action.
t.
Assemble the packing (50) on the nipple (51),
then install the assembled parts in the engine inlet fuel
pressure sensing port as shown in view E. Attach the
hose assembly (52) on the nipple. Install the tee (53) in
the free end of the hose assembly and install the valved
nipple (54) on the tee.
u. Install the hose assembly (55) in the side leg of
the tee (53) and install the valved nipple (56) in the free
end of the hose assembly as shown in view A.
v. Connect the valved nipple (54) to the M11
FUEL quick-disconnect fitting on the data acquisition
assembly (17). Connect the second valved nipple (56)
to the S1 quick-disconnect fitting on the data acquisition
assembly. (See view A.)
w. Assemble the hose assembly (57), nipple (58),
and drain bottle (59) as shown in view E. Connect the
free end of the hose assembly to the union (19),
installed in step (h).
x. Assemble the packing (60) and nipple (61), then
install the assembled parts in the engine fuel pump seal
drain port. (See view E.)
