NOTE
The E1 and E1 adapter cable, and E3 engine
electrical connectors are marked with a dark-
colored circumferential band which will be
totally covered (not visible) when the
respective harness connector are correctly
attached.
(1)
Connect PI to E1 connection (29) at the 6
o'clock position on digital electrical control unit (DEC).
(2)
Connect J1 to E1 connection on E1
harness.
(3)
Hand-tighten connectors to cover color
band.
(4)
P18 to connector J18 (52) on data
acquisition assembly (1).

Connect E3 harness 17A8574PO1 connectors as
follows:
(1)
Connect E3 to E3 connection (30) at 11
o'clock position on swirl frame bracket. Tighten
connector handtight to cover color band.
(2)
Connect LDS to LDS position transmitter
(31) at 12 o'clock position on hydromechanical control
unit (HMU). Tighten connector handtight.

Connect electric starter cable assembly to engine
starter as indicated below, then torque terminal nuts to
150-175 inch-pounds.

Connect positive (+) lead to terminal (B).
(2)
Connect negative (-) lead to terminal (E).
