TM 55-4920-328-13
2-69. Rigging, Adjustment, and Calibration.
a.
Rig PAS and LDS levers as follows:
(1)
Make sure you have hydraulic pressure to
PAS and LDS levers.
(2)
Remove rig pin (1, figure 2-61) from PAS
transmitter.
(3)
Move PAS lever on slave unit as necessary
to visually align rig pin hole with indicator hole.
(4)
Place rig pin (1) into rig pin hole in PAS
position transmitter (3). Rig pin has to go all the way in.
NOTE
The PAS position indication is provided on
THROTTLE POSITION indicator (8, figure 1-
24). In the steps below, this is referred to as
the PAS meter.
(5)
Set PAS meter to 260 +2. 50 reading by
loosening setscrew in sprocket (7, figure 2-61) and
turning shaft of PAS position transmitter (3). Tighten
setscrew.
(6)
Move PAS lever in control cab through its
full range to be sure that full travel between stops is
obtained. PAS throttle openings must be between 129
to 133.5 (max stop) and +1 to -3.5 (min stop). If
PAS meter readings do not fall within these limits,
check position indicator and HMU for proper
installation. Listen to the HMU for lockout indication (a
click at approximately 1100 PAS position). If indication
is not heard, check rigging.
(7)
Remove bolt (2) from LDS rig pin hole.
(8)
Move LDS lever on slave unit control cab as
necessary to visually align rig pin hole with indicator
hole.
(9)
Place rig pin (1) into rig pin hole in LDS
position transmitter (4). Rig pin has to go all the way in.
Set LDS meter (5A, figure 1-24) to 0 °
reading by
loosening setscrew in sprocket (8, figure 2-61) and
turning shaft of LDS position transmitter (4). Retighten
setscrew and remove rig pin (1).
(10) Thread rig pin into PAS position transmitter
(3) and tighten securely.
(11) Install bolt (2) into LDS position
transmitter (4) and tighten securely. LDS throttle
openings must be between 100 or greater (max stop)
and 0°
or less (min stop). If LDS meter readings do not
fall within these limits, check position indicator, HMU, or
slave unit for proper installation.
b.
Adjust charge amplifiers as follows (see figure 2-
62):
(1)
Set the ISOL. /GND switch of each charge
amplifier to GND. Watch brightness of light above
switch. Set the switch to ISOL. The light should be
brighter in the ISOL. position. If not, check to be sure
cable shielding is grounded and that engine is properly
grounded to the METS frame. If further problems exist,
switch the cables and/or charge amplifiers to isolate the
problem.
(2)
Set the DIFF. /SINGLE ENDED switch of
each charge amplifier to DIFF.
NOTE
Range
settings
are
supplied
with
accelerometers. A record must be kept of
the readings and serial numbers of each
accelerometer.
Accessory
gearbox
accelerometers have range settings of
approximately 50 pC/g. Exhaust frame
accelerometers have range readings of 10
pC/g.
