c.
Install accelerometer brackets (13 and 39) and
accelerometers (14 and 38) as follows:
(1)
Remove two bolts (9), two nuts (11), and
support clip (10). Do not remove green cable from
support clip. Store bolts in a convenient area for
installation after engine test.
(2)
Position
accelerometer
(14)
and
accelerometer bracket (13), with support clip (10), on
accessory gearbox (15). Install two bolts (12) and two
nuts (11). Torque nuts to 45-50 inch-pounds.
(3)
Remove bolts (41) and nuts (40) from
exhaust frame bolthole locations 6, 7, 8, 15, 16, 17.
Store bolts in a convenient area for installation after
engine test.
(4)
Attach accelerometers (38) and brackets
(39) to aft flange of exhaust frame (42).
(5)
Install six bolts (41) (boltheads aft) and nuts
(40). Torque nuts to 70-75 inch-pounds.
d.
Attach blankoff plates (16) as follows:
(1)
Place blankoff plates (16) on bleed ports at
3 and 9 o'clock positions (aft looking forward) of
compressor stator (18).
(2)
Assemble clamp (17) to each blankoff plate
(16). Be sure clamp (17), which is installed on blankoff
plate (16) at the 9 o'clock position, is oriented so that the
raised section on its circumference will not interfere with
the VG linkage. The VG linkage must be clear for
proper engine testing.
(3)
Torque clamp nuts (19) to 80-85 inch-
pounds.
e.
For T700-GE-700 and -701 engine models, install
the engine hydromechanical control unit (HMU) if it was
removed (refer to TM55-2840-248-23). and assemble
variable stator transmitter assembly (22) as follows:
CAUTION
When removing bolts (20) and nuts (21), be
careful not to drop washers located under
them. Washers must remain in position to
properly locate and secure the installed
variable stator transmitter assembly.
(1)
Remove two bolts (20) and two nuts (21).
Store bolts and nuts in a convenient area for installation
after engine test.
(2)
Place bracket (26) onto forward side of
accessory gearbox flange (27).
(3)
Install two bolts (28) boltheads forward),
four washers (29), and two nuts (30). Leave them loose.
NOTE
The No. 1 vane spindle is the first spindle to
the right (aft looking forward) of the
compressor splitline.
(4)
Thread shaft (23) onto the No. 1 vane
spindle until shaft is secure.
(5)
Slide vane clevis (24) down onto lever arm
of variable vane. Install screw (25) and tighten it
securely.
